The Finnish pioneer in natural cosmetics is targeting the Swedish market
Greenlips Beauty, based in Turku, Finland, specialises in the importation and selling of natural cosmetics. The company serves customers through its online store, beauty salon, hair salon, and natural cosmetics shop (open by appointment).
“The wellbeing of people and the environment is important to us. We aim to be a transparent, fair, and professional company that inspires people to make ethical and environmentally friendly cosmetic choices,” says Greenlips Beauty’s Brand Manager Mona Lundahn.
Greenlips Beauty serves environmentally conscious consumers across Finland. The company is currently expanding its import business to Sweden, which is why they wanted to partner up with an agile and reliable translation agency.
Eco-friendly, vegan, or organic? When terminology matters
The beauty industry uses specific terminology, and product labels should always clearly indicate the content of the product.
“In addition, natural cosmetics also have their own strict certification standards that exclude the use of thousands of ingredients that are considered harmful to humans, the environment, or animals. Natural cosmetics are products that contain only natural and environmentally friendly ingredients (certain raw materials may only be used in small quantities).”
Lingo has provided Swedish translations for Greenlips Beauty’s labels, product descriptions, and business letters, among other things.
“Initially, we translated our materials internally, but we quickly ran out of resources. Lingo has provided us with high-quality translations, flexibly and within the requested deadlines.

Less is more in green cosmetics
Greenlips Beauty is working for a better world. In transparent business, messages and word choices matter.
“We are always available at times requested by our customers to make sure they receive professional and personalised service. We also advise consumers though an online chat service and make sure that there is enough information and instructions available for our products.”
Greenlips Beauty is planning to redesign its e-commerce website, and its content will be translated at least into English. The company also aims to limit the online store’s product range instead of expanding it.
“We do not want our customers to make wasteful purchases. We aim to promote a less-is-more ideology.”
