Not just a software company, but a service company that makes great software – Supermind optimises order-supply chains also in English
Software company Supermind sought to increase its visibility and reach new audiences by translating its website into English with the help of a professional.Introducing Supermind
Supermind Oy is a software company that develops and sells a supply chain management solution called SUPERMIND for retail and wholesale companies. The solution provides an efficient tool for managing assortments, seasonal inventories, and product lifecycles. Supermind’s software solution automates replenishment order processes, which helps to ensure product availability, minimise waste, and reduce overstock.Supermind’s purchasing and logistics experts also provide consulting services to retailers and wholesalers. In addition, Supermind designs and implements a range of customised integrations between IT systems.
Supermind was founded by Jani Kärkkäinen, who also served as a contact person during the translation of the company website.
“Currently, Supermind only has customers in Finland, but we are expanding into the EU region, starting with Sweden,” says Jani about the company’s plans for international trade.
“Our customers are small and medium-sized retailers and wholesalers, typically with thousands or tens of thousands of product lines and multiple stores. Our customers include Ruohonjuuri, which sells organic products and natural cosmetics, Saiturinpörssi, a discounter in the Helsinki metropolitan area, and Suomen Akut, a specialist retailer of batteries and accumulators.”
Brand recognition in two languages
Supermind communicates in Finnish on the Finnish market, but targeting a wider audience also required having an English website.“We decided to translate our website into English to get more search engine visibility and attention outside Finland,” says Jani.
“We hope that it will help us to get more contacts from potential customers, partners, and investors.”
Supermind did not have a native English speaker in their team, so they decided to turn to Lingo’s language experts. They felt that collaboration with Lingo was easy and efficient, and communication was clear on both sides.
When translating website content into another language, the first step is to determine which parts of the site and which pages need to be published in a foreign language.
After that, we determine the best file format for the translation and the most flexible and cost-effective way for importing the files or text content from the client’s website to the translation software and back. The translator must also be able to adapt the language to the target audience.
“Lingo’s experts were familiar with the industry-specific vocabulary, which was particularly important to us,” says Jani.
Flexible cooperation
According to the client, Supermind is not just a software company, but a service company that makes great software. The company has a broad vision of optimising and automating the order-supply chain for all European SMEs, so that they can ensure product availability, minimise waste, and optimise working capital – with as little work as possible . They also want to be clear in all their communication.“Cooperation with Lingo has been smooth. Communication has been clear and efficient, and we have been very happy with the quality of the translations.”
