From Western Finland to the Louvre: Uula Color’s paints enhance esteemed sites and properties worldwide

Our translation client Uula Color has produced traditional and plastic-free paints and surface treatment agents for over forty years. Uula’s references include famous cultural sites, such as the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre Museum.

Lingo has translated Uula’s product texts, painting instructions, and website content into Swedish for many years.

Online store translations boost international growth

Uula’s handmade paints and surface treatment solutions are created in Kauvatsa, Finland.

“Amid the turmoil of a plastic-filled world, right from the beginning our goal has been to manufacture plastic-free, breathable, and eco-friendly paints, and to thereby give our customers the opportunity to care for their live edge wood and naturally beautiful wooden surfaces,” explains CEO Susan Äijälä.

The client wanted to highlight this core value on their new website and online store.

“When we updated our website and online store, we especially wanted to invest in the creation of a Swedish-language site,” Äijälä says.

“The translation into Swedish was procured from Lingo, and all of the translated texts were transferred smoothly onto our website.”

Every word in the online store has a carefully selected place

Uula’s client base consists of consumer customers, surface treatment professionals, and different companies and associations. There are several resellers all over Finland and Europe, but the importance of the online store has increased over the years.

We have to constantly update our website so that customers and search engines can locate our online store and its products. Understanding the local customer path, content localisation and using the right keywords all determine how easy it is to find the online store in any language.

“Online stores are important sales channels since they make purchases and services accessible when retail stores or customer services are not open. Different age groups prefer different purchase and comparison opportunities, which is a need that online stores can fulfill.”

According to Susan Äijälä, the significance of online stores was emphasised during the COVID-19 pandemic; you can shop from your couch around the clock, without coming into contact with others.

Common values and smooth cooperation in translations

Our translation agency is happy to serve bold clients like Uula.

“Collaboration with Lingo has gone smoothly since the very first email. We received quick responses to requests for quotes and to messages, and the translations were completed on schedule and to a high quality. Lingo’s service has always been good and professional.”
