Finland's largest sparring programme/competition for companies, Kasvu Open, offers SMEs an opportunity to accelerate growth by collaborating with the top experts of various industries. Kasvu Open includes various (sub)programmes that help companies expand into international markets (for example, the Going Global programme and the Gaselli Award).

Finnish is not enough for growth companies

Most of the participating companies are Finnish. For programmes like these, however, the language of communication is English , as there are also international partners involved in the project. At the same time, Kasvu Open wants to emphasise the international aspect of its programmes − when companies become international, Finnish is no longer enough.

Kasvu Open also organises events in Western Finland and in the Swedish-speaking areas of the Uusimaa region. In these cases, communication has to be bilingual.

Multilingual cooperation

Lingo translates marketing materials and websites/printed and online materials for Kasvu Open’s international programmes and bilingual Growth Paths. The cooperation began in the spring of 2016, and Lingo was one of the finalists as the 2015 Kasvu Open competition drew to a close at the Kasvu Carnival in Jyväskylä.

Positive experiences

"We are very happy with our collaboration with Lingo! Due to the requirements of the growth-oriented environment (and as we are also a growth-oriented company), we can be a challenging client; some of our materials need to be translated at very short notice. Sometimes, the source material has not even been finalised," says Enni Aittila, Content Producer from Kasvu Open.

"Lingo has proven to us that they are a quick, reliable and flexible partner. This is likely due to the fact that Lingo itself is a growth-seeking and a growing company, so they understand our operating environment and daily challenges. Another factor that has contributed to our successful collaboration is that Lingo has been involved in sparring provided by Kasvu Open," says Enni. When it comes to translation, this kind of in-depth knowledge of the client facilitates the communication/production of comprehensible messages − regardless of the language.

Additional information:

The two-day networking event, Kasvu Open Carnival, brings together the most promising growth companies in Finland, future employers, the growth company network and the partners of growth companies. As a whole, the event is a combination of a fair, seminars, hard work, fun and games. This is how the name, Carnival, was derived – none of the above-mentioned factors alone adequately describes the contents of the event.

The event is free of charge to invitees. If you would like an invitation and feel that you belong to the network, get in touch – we may be able to help you!
